Every Summer Has a Story - Blooms/Tapas/Poetry/Music at The Biscuit Eater in July!

We've got some exciting events happening at The B.E. over the next couple of weeks - Join us!
 
On Now...a stunning Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) exhibit through to next Tuesday, July 23rd.  Master Ikebana teacher Miyako Ballesteros, owner of The Ikebana Shop in Halifax, and Susan Robertson have created nine exotic arrangements placed throughout The B.E. dining area, entrance and library.  Miyako then has an Ikebana workshop scheduled at The B.E. Wednesday, July 31, 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  The cost is $30 and includes your arrangement!  To register, call the B.E. or email Miyako at [email protected]  
Wednesday, July 24th, 3 p.m.  Eleonore Schönmaier reads from her new poetry collectionWavelengths of Your Song (McGill-Queen's University Press).  A stunning unfolding of memory,Wavelengths of Your Song juxtaposes a childhood in the northern Canadian wilderness with the adventures of an international creative life. Signed copies available for purchase.  Check out the book trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6pR0WS7DzE

Friday, July 26th, 7:30 p.m. - Special Tapas Evening with Music by Jont!  We'll be featuring an enticing mix of Spanish influenced tapas, wines and cocktails under the grape arbour, weather permitting - otherwise, in the dining room.  Doors open at 6 p.m. and music begins at 7:30 p.m. For reservations, give us a call at 624-2665.

Saturday, July 27th, 3 p.m. Join Sarah Calvert and guests for an afternoon of acoustic tunes and amusing tales from her album "Other Side" and her newest release, "Masala Melodies".  
 
Sarah Calvert is a Renaissance Woman: singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, musical theatre director (My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding), English teacher, journalist, extreme skier, Kundalini yoga teacher and devotional mantra musician.  "A rare vintage blend of Norah Jones and Debbie Harry, this full-bodied singer-songwriter mingles roots and jazz, for a heady folk infusion."
